There is a lot of questions for Seniors
By knowing I am not the only one going through this and everyone is it keeps me somewhat calm. Everyone that graduated can almost feel the same way about the Corona virus taking over. It also helps me keep calm knowing that businesses are not opened right now and are working from home so I am not missing much. I know that governor wolf will give us a heads up when everything would be opening and not just spring it upon us. This is not only a difficult time for me but it is a difficult time for everyone and we need to stick together to push through this horrible time.
Knowing that eventually it will all be ok in the end. At some point I realized that i get to spend time with my family before moving away. I am trying to enjoy being stuck in the house with them and appreciate the moments we have before I move two hours away. I think some families become closer when being forced to quarantine with their families. I am thankful I get to spend this time with them and make memories. I also stay in contact with my friends and talking about how the corona virus made us feel helps. It is a bond we all have now as seniors. The jobs will be there hopefully for when we fight the virus and are allowed to go into work. I think really enjoying my time right now is important and to not rush going into a job.

What goes on in the twitter newsfeed while this pandemic is going on you may ask yourselves. From my point of view my newsfeed is filled with college students like myself extremely sad over the cancelation of many events to some. But in my opinion I would rather scroll down the twitter newsfeed because I relate more to the college students tweeting about updates how they feel than random people on facebook.

Academic Journals Labeled “A”
This academic journal shows different video clips throughout the journal. It also mentions how production evolves with digital revolution in the video clip Culture, Creativity and Disappearing Celluloid. Another video clip the article had in there was called Terroristas: What are the images of terrorists in Brazilian films of the 90’s and 00’s. The video explains about terrorism and how it evolved. I really liked this article because it had clips that were easy to understand.

This academic journal talks about about gaming and what people that study gaming look for. I thought it was cool how it explains what they study, what website to go to, and the different studies they do. I do not game as much but it was cool to see that people actually like to study gaming and the process behind it all. It mentions the “death loop” written by Olli Tapio Leino. It has articles all throughout the journal to explain all the different studies and what people are figuring out.

This journal is helpful to formal scholarly activity for those are are looking at Digital Humanities. It discusses the DSCN and what it focuses on. I thought it was really cool learning about. It gives alot of information that I did not know about the DSCN. The layout of the article was ok, it was a bit confusing to me but I always am up for a challenge with reading articles.

The article talks about Mike Bloombergs interview about the presidential race. I thought it was a very helpful article by the information they put in it. It was cool how they split up the article into categories to. It made it alot easier to understand. I liked the layout of the article and it was very useful to me to learn about the presidential race. The article will be very useful for people that are into the candidates and what they are saying before the race.

This was my favorite journal to look at and read. It really stuck out to me because it had a red color that popped out and it just looked fun to read because of the layout. The article also has different articles on the side so you can see what else you would like to click on. It also has different links to click on if you wanted to find out more about the candidates. The article is mostly about Bernie Sanders if you enjoy learning about him and what he is up to.

This journal discusses what goes on weekly, but what really grabbed my attention were all the photos on the website. It looked like they wanted the readers to be intrigued by the site and it intrigued me. They have a bunch of different topics about what is actually going on. They have a separate section for books and art. They talk about drugs and sports. Then they also talk about politics. You get a little bit of everything which I thought made it so great!

ENG333:

What was I expecting when I signed up for this class you may be wondering. I signed up for this class because I had to for my minor in social media. I also wanted to sign up for this class because I wanted to know more about writing online and what it is like and how to blog. I did not know what was expected of me or how I should prepare myself for this class. I am shocked at how different this class is than I thought it would be!
Walking into the classroom was scary at first and I thought after the first day I would fall behind in the class and be very confused. We talked about WordPress which is a blogging website that is a must for the class. When I first heard about WordPress it made me extremely nervous. When I first signed up I thought we would be doing alot more papers and assignments that had nothing to do with blogging. Once I found out we would be blogging for everything I did not know how I felt about it. This course was completely different from what I expected from it. I did not think I would enjoy the course as much as I do. It made me realize how much I like to blog and made me think I can use a personal blog for my friends and family to read.

Some of you may not know what blogging is. What I have learned from the class is it is an online website where it lets you write whatever you want and people can view it. We use WordPress as our blogging website. You can either have a secrete identity or you can use your actual name, which is what I used. I think it is awesome learning how to use it. It reminds me of Microsoft Word because you can design your blog.
Your blog can include themes, different fonts, and you can even include pictures or video clips which I thought was pretty cool. It took me a little bit to figure out how I liked my blog to look. I fooled around one day when learning about WordPress. I thought it had really cool ideas of how to use the themes in your blog. Youtube also is a big help when learning how to figure out how to use the website. Once you get the hang of how to use it you will not want to stop. I actually really enjoy this class because now I know how to blog for my future and if my job ever needs me to. I also really enjoy it and think I might make my own personal blog for my friends and family to read.

When taking this class be prepared the readings may be difficult to some of you. We blog every Tuesday and Thursday but have to blog based on the reading that is assigned. I get very frustrated because some of the readings are very hard for me to understand and comprehend to make my blog. Sometimes I will turn to google or youtube if I don’t not understand something and it will help me. I also try to really listen in the class when we go over our blogs and the readings that were due to get a better understanding of the the reading. Some of the readings are super easy and I understand them, but others it hurts my blog because I do not really know what imp talking about and want to know information to make my blog good. My advice is to make a friend in the class and read together!
When we learned about multiliteracies I was very confused and needed a little extra help. I found that youtube videos helped me alot. The video should explain what a multiliteracy is. If you click on the link below it should help give you a better understanding like it did for me! The chapter about multiliteracies was a hard one for me to understand but in class discussions always make it easier! Once I found this video I was golden and ready to make my blog!
We also learned about digital rhetoric for one of the chapters. According to Eyman “The term “digital rhetoric” is perhaps most simply defined as the application of rhetorical theory (as analytic method or heuristic for production) to digital texts and performances.”(Eyman). Here is a quick clip if it is hard to understand. The clip was very helpful for me, I hope it does the same for you!
The class is not as bad as I thought it would be and I really enjoy it. I would tell everyone who is into writing online to take this course. It helped me in so many ways and it taught me new things! Be prepared to read alot and then have to turn it into a blog. It is not as bad as I thought it would be when blogging. Like I said I actually enjoy it and love making it look really fancy. Some of the material we read you may not understand but look up youtube videos and really pay attention the what your classmates put in their blog and what they thought was important from the readings.

The main take away from this article is that it explains how people write and learn through out a college campus. It is important to college students that their environment is key to learning. She argues that the history of writing in the US composition instruction as well as its contemporary legacy functions to limit our professional understanding of composing as a multimodal rhetorical activity. English is not the same as it was years ago it is changing but in a positive way.
Sonic Environments: The songs music and podcasts they produce and listen to, the cell phones conversations in which they immerse themselves, the headphones and nanos that accompanies where they go, the thumper cars they use to turn the streets into concert stages; the audio blogs, video soundtracks and mixes they compose and exchange with each other and share with anyone else who will lsiten.
Rhetorical sovereignty: The right and responsibilities that students have to idenitify their own communicative needs and to represent their own identities to select the right tools for the communicative context within which they operate and to think critically and carefully about the meaning that they and others compose.
Historical shift: Occurred during the 19th century , from an older style of education based on declamation, oratory, forensics, and delivery to a new style of education based primarily on the study and analysis of written texts both classical and contemporary.

Three Terms:
This article describes how technology has become an important factor in our lives today and now has effected writing. It has changed within writing and how we use to write back in the days is not how it is now. To me it is much easier and more efficient with the technology we have. It relates to the article we read first about multiliteracies and how writing is effected.

The Pictorial Turn
-Having a push in the incorporate visual language.
Multiliteracies
-Ability to identify multiple forms of communication
Visual Communication and Rhetoric
-Somewhat of the same when it comes to communication and to be simple.
Douglas Eyman
Defining the term: it has not yet been established as a field. Draws its theory and methods first and foremost from the tradition of rhetoric itself
Tradition of rhetoric:both analytic method and heuristic for production and for our purpose. Can be used as a kind of meta-discipline
Persuasion means there is rhetoric. To have meaning it means it need to have persuasion behind it.
Douglas defines digital rhetoric as the application of rhetorical theory
When applying traditional rhetoric you need to look at the new forms of print text and digital communication to see if it is traditional.

Explaining Digital Rhetoric
What is digital rhetoric?- Video one
This is a great video for people who do not know the meaning behind digital rhetoric. It gives easy definitions to understand it better. From when I first learned what it was I wished I had this video to get a better understanding of it and a little bit more of a break down of what it is. The video also does not have much going on so it does not distract the viewer and has their full attention.
how to use digital rhetoric- Video 2
This video gives and easy definition and talks about three types of persuasive speech that Aristotle has talked about. This video is more informing from the first video but still able to be easy to comprehend. The video also describes Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. It gives alot of great information that is useful when learning about digital rhetoric.
What is digital rhetoric?- Video 3
This video also explains Aristotle and the three ways of persuasion in his books. It explains how we are persuaded by people and different ways. He talks about ethos, logos, and pathos, but explains them in a different way a little bit more understanding than video two in my opinion. This video also gives the 7 emotions that he wrote about in his second book.
