My Plan

Move to Philadelphia when this is all over…

Question is when

With the virus nobody knows what is going to happen within the business world. It is scary as a senior graduating wanting a job. It is difficult and very stressful because us seniors did not expect the job interviewing process to be online instead of in person. We also don’t know if businesses are still going to be hiring when they can not be physically in the office. It is a scary time and hopefully everything works out in the end.

Interviewing Process..

While most interviews happen in person, now that everything is closed it is all over the web. It is very different because a lot can go wrong during the interview and might not be as affective than if you were doing the interview in person.

Problems with the web interview..

• Web cam has not worked for me in the past. My computer was being very difficult and would not allow me to use the web came for some reason I could not figure out
• I was given the wrong Zoom link meeting for my interview.
• The web is not as affective as it would be in person interviews. You can have a totally different interview in person than over the web.

Pros..

• You do not have to travel to the workplace and can save money.
• It might be less stressful over the web than in person.
• They can cut the interviews shorter.

Cons

• It is not as effective as it would be in person.
• Can not physically go and see where you would be working.
• Could have technical issues when interviewing over the web.

My plan before the virus..

Before the virus took over our lives, I had a totally different plan. My original plan was to move to Philidephia the weekend after graduation. Once I moved to Philadelphia and had a job I wanted to explore the city and the environment I would be living in. I had beach trips planned to celebrate graduation with my friends before I would start my job. We can not do any beach trips this summer, I can not explore apartments to live in, and I can not go out in Philadelphia and see what it is actually like when living there.
